Abotanicity Complete!

I finally got a couple photos that I didn't hate, so without further ado, here they are!

Don't worry, the light color under the sweater is a tank-top, not my skin :P

I made the length of the skirt to just cover my rear, I thought any shorter would look strange, and any longer would make it too much of a dress. I am pleased with the length and fit.

I made the sleeves long, like I like them to be :)

The picture quality is a bit fuzzy, but this is just to show the belt a little better. The pattern did not call for a belt, however I lost some weight (15 lbs, hooray!) while making the sweater and ended up needing to do something about the excess length and looseness right under my bust area. Pictures below to show the effect adding a belt made.

The belt is a simple crochet with double strands of the yarn held together and worked as one. Six rows of single crochet, one row of treble crochet, rinse and repeat until done :) I chained ties on the ends because this belt is a bit thick and stiff to tie and I did not want to mess with any kind of buckle.

Without the belt, it is obvious that the bodice part of this shirt is too long. It is also not drawing in quite like it should to properly define my bust from my belly. I did not mean to slump here, totally unintentional!

Big difference isn't it? Yes the lighting and me not slumping helps, but the belt made a huge difference. It really helps to hide that the bodice part is too long and makes a nice transition from the ribbing to the lace.

I am very pleased with how the sweater turned out. The decision to use Cherry Tree Hill's Supersock Silk was a good choice, even though it was expensive. I would love to use this yarn again in the future for a smaller project. The sweater feels nice, has good weight, a pretty sheen and is not scritchy in the least. I used nearly all of the 6 hanks I purchased, with just a tiny bit of scrap left. I know that I will get a lot of use out of this sweater this fall. It is way too warm to wear during the summer, but once fall comes this will no doubt be one of my favorite things to wear.
